The Historic Cafés Route
in Türkiye
The Historic Cafés Route invites travelers to explore Europe’s preserved cafés, which have served as vibrant centers of cultural, political, and artistic exchange since the eighteenth century. These cafés showcase diverse architectural styles and house rich intangible heritage, reflecting the literary, musical, and social history of their time. Visitors can experience traditional coffee culture, taste local pastries, and participate in events that bring these historic spaces to life.
Türkiye is a member of this route through the Pera Palace – Patisserie de Pera. Since the late 19th century, the patisserie has preserved the tradition of French pastry-making in the elegant setting of Istanbul’s Pera Palace Hotel. Visitors can enjoy handmade chocolates, fresh French pastries, and nostalgic Ottoman‑Turkish desserts while being immersed in the historic Belle Époque atmosphere.
